Welcome to HOB

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of HOB, a personal finance tracking and budgeting application. By creating an account or using HOB, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use HOB.

Using HOB

What HOB Is

HOB is a manual budgeting tool. You enter your financial transactions, and we help you organize and track them. We do NOT connect to your bank accounts or financial institutions. All data entry is manual and intentional.

Your Account

• You must be at least 13 years old to use HOB
• You're responsible for keeping your password secure
• Accounts may be shared within your immediate household (spouse, partner, family members living together)
• You're responsible for all activity under your account
• You must provide accurate information when signing up

What You Can't Do

• Use HOB for anything illegal
• Try to hack, reverse engineer, or break HOB's security
• Share your account with others
• Scrape or automatically extract data from HOB
• Use HOB to store someone else's financial data without permission
• Abuse or overload our systems (excessive API calls, etc.)

Your Financial Data

You Own Your Data

All the financial information you enter into HOB belongs to you. We store it securely, but it's yours. You can delete it anytime from the Settings page.

Our Recommendations

Data Accuracy

You're responsible for the accuracy of data you enter. HOB displays what you input - we don't verify transactions with banks or other sources. Double-check your entries!

Service Availability

Uptime

We work hard to keep HOB running smoothly, but we can't guarantee 100% uptime. There may be:

• Scheduled maintenance (we'll try to notify you)
• Unexpected downtime (server issues, hosting problems)
• Feature changes or updates

Changes to HOB

We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We'll try to notify you of major changes, but we're not required to maintain any specific features.

Payments and Subscriptions

Free Trial / Free Tier

HOB may offer a free trial or free tier. We can change or end free access at any time with notice.

Paid Subscriptions

When subscription pricing is available:

• Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel
• You can cancel anytime from Settings
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
• We don't offer refunds for partial months
• Prices may change with 30 days notice

No Refunds

All fees are non-refundable except where required by law. If you cancel, you keep access until the end of your paid period.

Cancellation and Termination

You Can Leave Anytime

You can delete your account and all your data from the Settings page at any time. This is permanent and cannot be undone.

We Can Terminate Your Account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms
• You abuse the service or other users
• You engage in illegal activity
• Your payment fails (for paid accounts)
• We're required to by law

We'll try to give you notice before terminating, but we're not required to.

Disclaimers and Limitations

Not Financial Advice

No Warranty

HOB is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that:

• HOB will be error-free or uninterrupted
• Your data calculations will be accurate
• HOB will meet your specific needs
• All bugs will be fixed

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we're not liable for:

• Lost profits or data
• Indirect or consequential damages
• Financial decisions you make based on HOB
• Errors in your budget calculations

If we are found liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (or $100 if you're on a free plan).

General Legal Stuff

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of The State Of Maryland, USA. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of The State Of Maryland.

Entire Agreement

These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the complete agreement between you and HOB. They replace any prior agreements.

Severability

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
